Abstract: | The infl.uence of mass media of information on society has become so vital that no activity can move towards innovation and development without its touch. There is a continuous fl.ow of media culture in the modern society. It is next to impossible to go through a single moment of our lives without encountering different types of media. Media infl.uences people and brings about change. Television has become an important industry and brought about a tremendous amount of growth in the economy of the country. Apart from boosting the economy, it is also a source of earning livelihood for many. In the coming decade information and communication, technologies will affect and reshape the entire world either for good or for bad depending on how we channelise them. It will radically infl.uence the global economy, and more so our Indian economy because India has the world's largest pool of IT work force, whose scientific competencies are outstanding. Its indigenous knowledge is rich; its entertainment and information sectors are vibrant. In spite of the rich potentials that India possesses, information and communication technology is faced with greater threats than ever before. |
