dc.description.abstract | Organizations around the globe are keen on implementing green supply chain management practices along their supply chain. Sustainability and adopting environment friendly strategies have emerged as a critical concern across various industries. The damaging effects that industrial operations have on the environment have prompted companies irrespective of the sector they belong to, to reconsider their existing approaches to supply chain management. The term "green supply chain management" (GSCM) refers to a proactive strategy that aims to reduce the impact of supply chain operations on the environment while preserving operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. In order to deal with the pressures from numerous stakeholders and the complexity of the world's supply chain networks, GSCM is being applied across the whole supply chain from the product's design phase through its end-of-life management (Emmet and Sood, 2010). | en_US |
