Abstract: | An innovative piece of technology that tries to close the communication gap between those who are deaf or hard of hearing and those who are not familiar with sign language is a chatbot that can translate signs in real-time. With the use of artificial intelligence and natural language processing, this technology offers an open and welcoming platform for conversation. Users can enter text-based messages into the translator via a chatbot interface. In order to capture the user's sign language gestures, the chatbot then uses sophisticated computer vision algorithms to analyze real-time video data from a camera. It accurately recognizes and decodes these movements using machine learning models that have been trained on sign language datasets. Depending on the recipient's request, the chatbot translates the gestures into spoken or written language once they have been identified. It then generates a text response or uses text-to-speech technology to emit an audio response, allowing both participants to participate in a discussion without any interruptions. A chatbot that can translate between sign languages in real time has many important benefits. It improves accessibility by removing the requirement for a middleman sign language translator, allowing people with hearing loss to speak more freely in a variety of contexts. Additionally, it promotes diversity by enabling those who do not understand sign language to communicate effectively with members of the deaf or hard-of- hearing community. Additionally, in order to improve communication in a variety of settings, this technology has the potential to be incorporated into many platforms, such as mobile applications or video conferencing solutions. It encourages equality and equal involvement in social relationships, work, and education, and it makes it possible for knowledge to reach a wider audience. |
