dc.description.abstract | Numerous cutting-edge methods and technologies have been developed in tandem with the Internet's explosive expansion from the 1990s to date to address users breath-taking experiences and more virtual interactions online. With great experience and transforming digitally, many virtual worlds have been created, however the majority are incoherent rather than being integrated into a platform. The term "metaverse" has been used in this context to refer to a shared virtual environment that is supported by numerous cutting-edge technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of these technologies, which has demonstrated the significant value of boosting the ultimate experience that will act like human intelligence created in the virtual environment. Here, we talked about how AI and its subfields, machine learning and deep learning architectures and its algorithms, contributed to the creation and growth of the metaverse. We present a thorough analysis of AI-based techniques for a variety of technical areas (such as NLP, blockchain, machine learning, computer vision, neural network) that have the potential to create virtual worlds in the metaverse as our key contributions. Several key AI-aided applications are also being investigated for potential deployment in virtual environments, including those in manufacturing, healthcare, smart cities, and gaming. We wrap up the major contribution and provide the groundwork for some potential future Artificial intelligence research areas for the metaverse. This chapter introduces the concepts of developing and optimising AI techniques to enhance the quality of apps created in the metaverse and strengthen the virtual world. © 2024 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
