dc.description.abstract | This study is a step in the direction of automation and central control of a cable manufacturing unit. It includes literature review on issues like uncertainty and risk management in logistics related problems and their variations. The production related parameters were aligned together for designing a production line on ARENA simulation software. An innovative methodology was selected for simulation model in which the suppliers and warehouses were also included. A system was developed for each process of cable production unit. It was then simulated for different parameters for 10,000 hours and obsen1ations were made. The results derived from the simulations indicate that this system can be used for central monitoring and development for an assembly line manufacturing system subject to further improvement in logistics in the firm under the study. | en_US |
