dc.description.abstract | Nanomaterials have become the cornerstones of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The current trends toward the development of nanomaterials have led to much research in the field of nanotechnology. The researchers are involved in the synthesis of several nanomaterials for various fields like automotive, food packaging, defense, railways, aerospace, and biomedical applications. The way in which nanomaterials are developed provide a wide range of properties in which they can function and can be utilized, thus significantly revolutionizing many commercial applications. The nanomaterials are designed at the nanolevel giving them their small size and novel properties that cannot be found in bulk materials. The properties of nanomaterials are due to their relatively high surface area and new quantum effects. This chapter provides a brief introduction to the different types of nanomaterials and nanocomposites and their applications. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. | en_US |
