dc.description.abstract | The tourism of today is the outcome of the combined efforts of various constituents. In fact tourism industry is the mix of the output and the services of different sub industries. Accommodation and catering industry is the major constituents of tourism industry The modern face of accommodation and catering forming a unit with entertainment facilities is a "Hotel". Water is the simplest cleaning agent thus it is frequently used in hotel's housekeeping department for cleaning as well as in laundry. Hotel guest uses water for drinking, bathing & cleaning in toilet. So, modern hotel is one of the largest single-user of water. Further, this water with dirt and chemicals are disposed into sewerage & to eco-system. This polluted water in huge quantum is posing serious threat to not only to ,water conservation but to the entire eco-system. But the saddest point is that t his issue is still going un-noticed.
