Abstract: | This paper reviews the previous research studies on self-determination theory (SDT) on the importance of autonomous motivation in learning, relationship, work organizations and physical activity. SDT adopts humane, positive approach to understand individuals to function optimally. Effort, commitment and agency (activity) are the three propelling 'inherent growth tendencies' which combine well with basic psychological needs to actualize one's potential to the fullest. |
