Abstract: Increasing Populatio11, High land prices and conservative government regulation do not let the people having income from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15000 per 111011th afford the house which may be deemed affordable for them. Housing sector has become the most valuable sector and the big players like to invest their amount in the same. The prices of la11d are rapidl11 i11creasing which cause the worst co11ditio11s of poor people as they have to choose slums or unauthorized houses. This problem may be seen in almost all major cities of the India. But despite bei11g the most important area due to major political activities, the National Capital Regio11 (NCR) is unable to deal with such problem in a sig11,ficant manner. Ghaziabad, a major city!} of Uttar Pradesh (part of NCR) provides the housing facility to numerous persons of all segments but due to the reasons said above, unable to make available housing to ever11bod11 especially to those having low income. Keeping this burning issue in views, this paper aims to focus over the approach of such perso11s living in Ghaziabad and near by areas having low income towards affordable housing and the scope of availability of such affordable houses for them.
