dc.description.abstractThis is an article which is intended to throw light on the imperativeness of business excellence for industry especially for Indian organizations and also takes stock of the major business excellence models such as Malcolm Ba/ridge model, European model for Quality in Management (EFQM) model, Kanji's model being adopted by the industry globally and in India. The article also throws light on the Tata Business Excellence model (TBEM) since TATA group is supposed to be the pioneers in this field. The article also delves into the Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality award which actually is based on the Malcolm Ba/ride model. The Confederation of Indian Industry and Export -Import Bank of India (C/1-EXIM ) Bank award has also been dealt with.-
