Abstract: A famous quote tares that "Education is our pass port to the future; fi r tomorrow belongs to those that prepare for it today. "Therefore, education in general and higher education in particular should cater to the needs of the country, economy and market place and make a student ready for the industry or at least make him job ready. If this does not happen at the student level it results in a ca cad ing effect on many area which deters the development of a nation as a whole. India as a nation can boast itself a a knowledge center and the top brains around the world in different countries have been from India. The complete brain drain and the dismal fact that the brightest Indian minds are found o nly outside India is again evidence to the fact that the Indian higher ed ucatio n system suffers from many inherent problems.
